FLINT MICHIGAN WATER CRISIS OF APRIL 2014 2
The following paper is an analysis of the Flint water crisis that happened in April 2014 in
Michigan State United States. The background information has highlighted the major aspects of
pollution, such as the change in the water supply system from Detroit to river flint. The
stakeholders and decision-makers, such as the president and the quality assurance department of
Michigan State government, have been discussed. SWOT analysis of organizations such as
FEMA, MDEQ, and Environmental Protection Agency has been analyzed whereby the various
aspects have been identified and enlisted effectively. The major issues that arose from the Flint
Water pollution, such as increased death cases to 12, and the problem that affected over 12000
children have been analyzed effectively. Recommendations for the Flint water crisis and action
plan to stop the process have also been discussed, whereby the strategies of reducing the level of
pollution has been implemented effectively. By ensuring that the pipes are replaced and the lead
pollution is controlled, the strategies can work effectively in ensuring that the Flint water crisis is
reduced. The Michigan State department, in collaboration with the federal government, has been
focused on the strategic measures of reducing the pollution rate while implementing quality
measures to help in focusing on strategic water pollution reduction that is effective and ethical.
