DISCUSSION ON SCHERING-PLOUGH HEALTHCARE PRODUCTS 2
Training implications for the manufacturing team
As Schering-Plough Healthcare products organization is rolling out new pocket-sized
sunscreen sticks and sprays, the training implications on the manufacturing team enable them to
have a focused intervention in making a difference and a change during the manufacturing
process (Zheng et al., 2017). Usually, there is a usual way of doing things. Still, the training
process follows an integrated approach in helping accomplish the goals and useful success
measures in developing a new product (Zheng et al., 2017). The training will capacitate the
manufacturing team with adequate knowledge and skills to customize the products to the reliable
pocket-sized sunscreen stick and sprays.
My thought in peers suggestion of the training process and points to add
The peers point to the training process whereby they suggest that it is done in phases and
only specific departments involved, especially the manufacturing team. The point is good,
although I would add to the information that all the organizational members require to be trained
to have adequate information regarding the product. Successful and integrated measures require
that crucial metrics are followed and implemented to support and reduce the challenges
significantly as required (Calantone, Di Benedetto & Rubera, 2018). A good training schedule
helps empower all the organizational members and a seamless absorption of the product into the
market, which creates a suitable opportunity and critical interventions as recommended.
Disagreement with the peers, realistic points and rationale
My main disagreement with the peers is on the corporate team's selective empowerment,
whereby the emphasis remains on the manufacturing team. The point is realistic since the
manufacturing process depends on the manufacturing team. The emphasis should be on
implementing key and required aspects of change, which makes things work appropriately
