The study aims to understand the impact that the adolescent phase of human life has on having bad behaviour that may lead to poor school performance. Additionally it seeks to find out whether substance abuse has no direct connection to students' dropout but has an indirect impact through intermediate outcomes of the students' poor grades. Other effects such as students abusing drugs are likely to arrive at school late and are not motivated to undertake any assignment most of the time.
