There are various human resource development approaches that organizations do put in
place a framework for helping employees develop their skills, knowledge, and abilities that
improve their effectiveness. Based on personal opinion, the most significant ongoing HR
development approach worth recommending for this position is Mentoring by more experienced
employees. Through this approach, the newly hired human resource manager will have to be
mentored by other high ranking officials within the organization like those within the executive
rank. Based on the organizational policy, departmental managers and other high ranking officials
are people with more experienced and well knowledgeable about the administrative operations
and new trends within the industry.
Performance Management
Performance appraisal is an organizational activity which involves regular review of
employees’ job performance and overall contribution to the company. It is also referred to as
annual review, performance review or evaluation (Kampkötter, 2017). According to the
organizational policy, it applies Human-Resource (Cost) Accounting Method. This form of an
appraisal involves an analysis of employee’s performance through the monetary benefits he or
she yields to the company. It is done by comparing the cost of retaining the employee and the
contribution or economic benefit an organization has ascertained from that specific employee.
Employees performance is evaluated and ranked on a scale of 1-12 whereby 1 indicates poor
performance while 12 is excellent performance. The appraisal is done by departmental managers
in consultation with individual employees. For the departmental managers, their assessment is to
be done by the Human resource director who is also under the Organizational Chief Executive
