A nurse is a trained individual who takes care of the sick in health facilities. On the other hand, a
patient is referred to as a person receiving treatment, while healthcare information is a person’s
data based on the history of their sickness and the results. This data is important because it
provides records about the patient in cases where complications arise. The data is also used to
evaluate the facility's overall performance and the projection of their next step of action. This
essay focuses on explaining the role of a nurse in protecting patient healthcare information.
Nurses protect patients' healthcare information by ensuring that low and appropriate volume is
maintained while discussing a patient’s medical information. This is important because other
medical practitioners might use this data to accord treatment and billing. They also ensure that
they do not leave any hard copies that contain sensitive information about the patient in public

Nurses research on more efficient ways to protect patient’s healthcare information and therefore,
coming up with more and new improvement opportunities. This helps improve their career path
as most organizations need highly skilled and qualified professionals who can deliver the best
medical services as wells as transparency. On the other hand, the new opportunities obtained
might also help them to come up with more competent decisions that improve healthcare
services.
Also, nurses ensure that they keep in touch with the Human Resource office in case of any
activity that may disclose a patient’s confidentiality. They achieve this by ensuring that they are
aware of the guidelines that safeguard the patient’s healthcare information which is of great
importance both to the individual and the society by promoting good communication between
