Introduction

private jet was actually a plot to kidnap a millionaire in Sondonesian Island, the owner of a
supersonic business jet. The work of Flight 714 to Sydney, was used by Herge to explore
paranormal occurrences that interested him. The book portrayed a lot of mysteries but was left
unsolved, which attracted negative comments.

In a fuelling stop to an international space exploration conference in Sydney, Tintin, his
dog, and friends are invited into a private jet by Skut, who is the pilot to Carreidas, an
industrialist and a millionaire. The jet is hijacked and lands on a volcanic island. Snowy,
Tintin’s dog runs into the jungle under gunfire. Carreidas is the aim of hijacking since the
mastermind of the plot wants to seize his fortune. Rastapopoulos separate the rest in the jet into
the Japan World war II bunker and takes Carreidas to an accomplice doctor to inject a truth
serum. The intention of using the serum is to force him provide information about his Swiss bank
details. On the contrary, he emphasizes on his personal life of greed and theft. Unfortunately,
Rastapopoulos strikes at the doctor, and mistakenly gets injected with the serum, which boosts
his past crime.
Snowy, helps the others escape from the bunker. They get to the other banker where the
millionaire was help hostage and escort Rastapopoulos, doctor, and Carreidas to the lower
ground. Rastapopoulos gets a chance to escape, and the rest move to a cave, and a volcanic
eruption is heard. Rastapopoulos and the henchmen make a rubber vessel from the plane and
escape. Tintin and companions are saved using a flying saucer piloted by extraterrestrials. In this
comic work, Hergé brings out imaginative actions and mysterious activities. Focusing on the
previous work done by him, bring out several mysteries that the government need to solve.
Therefore, it is certain in this book some mystery need to be solved.
Discussion
Herge uses a weird animal that is snowy, a fiction animal used by the author for mystery
rescue. Tintin, the dog owner, gets into the Jet with his dog, and it well tied. After there is a
forced landing, the dog becomes frightened and keeps barking. When the jet’s door is open, it
loosen up and leaves Tintin running into the jungle (Herge, p.18). Rastapopoulos shot towards
