Domain IICreating a Positive, Productive Classroom Environment
Competency 006: The teacher understands strategies for creating an organized and productive
learning environment and for managing student behaviour.
1. Describe the classroom rules, routines and procedures.
The teacher checks the student’s materials as they enter into the classroom and requires them
to maintain silence as whenever they need to pay attention to the lesson or take a quiz. They also
begin the class with announcements (Agape Management, 2013). Students are required to follow
classroom expectations whenever they are given. Additionally, they have clap patterns which
they apply to indicate the end of an activity and have a style of collecting papers to the side after
the end of an activity or a quiz. Further, the teacher expects the students to clean up at the end of
the lesson.
2. Give an example of how the teacher organizes individual activities.
The teacher sets short individual activities that require the students to complete these
assignments in a short time and quietly without any destruction. For example, he asked the
students to fill their homework planner and do a three-minute quiz silently without consulting or
making any noise.
