Many countries have struggled with the challenges of poverty and health problems in
different societies that the United Nations has come in to intervene to improve the condition.
Poverty-stricken societies also suffer from health-related issues because they lack the proper
resources needed to sustain their livelihoods. When people are poor, they cannot access a
balanced diet, clean water, and diseases easily inflict them, affecting society's health system.
The intervention of the united nations on poverty and health issues through human rights has
addressed the issue using national policies and developing initiatives through the help of
regional authorities and non-governmental organizations to champion for good health and
revive the societies living n low standards (Cooper, 2016).
The sound development practices and public health policies allow policymakers to
join hands together with the planner in conjunction with the national ministries to address
poverty reduction strategies. The United nations apply the guidance on how a human rights-
based approach can be used to approach health in the context of poverty reduction. Every
section that they handle has a guideline on the strengthening processes that enable inclusion,
participation, and accountability, which empowers the marginalized people to claim their
rights to good health.
Under the united nation, the human rights law recognizes the challenges that poor
societies face, making it difficult for them to realize the economic, social, and cultural rights.
Poverty is associated with economic terms that focus on a person and the household, relative,
or absolute financial capabilities. United nations have identified poverty as multidimensional
and cannot be limited to a lack of material goods and opportunities. For example, the social,
economic, and political interventions have to be assessed to see where the problem comes
