Introduction
Higher education systems or universities have three critical missions in providing
education to graduates. Their first mission is to facilitate effective teaching to students, while the
second mission is to help students conduct scientific researches. The last task of higher education
systems is to enhance community services (Karaca, 2014). However, in this paper, I will focus
mainly on the first two missions which suit this report's requirement.
Regarding the first mission, higher education systems are expected to educate different
professions by providing pre-training services based on the undergraduate and vocational
programs. The second mission and responsibility of universities are to help their students
conduct applied and basic scientific research that should contribute to innovations and
developments in scientific sectors. Besides university academic staff helping their students
conducting scientific research, they should also help them publish their scientific research
results, including books, reports, and research articles to share with the related academic field.
However, most of the universities incorporate their scientific research mission in the
graduate's academic programs. It is also worth noting that most universities achieve their
missions through their administrative staff, academic staff, and teaching staff (Karaca, 2014).
The mission of the university is mostly in accordance with the institution's values and principles.
It is the responsibility of teaching staff, including lecturers, instructors. It supports a team that
determines if the graduates meet an institution's principles and values.
When students enroll in a university, they are expected to adopt and abide by their
respective institution's principles and values set by the institution. Most of the university's
principles and values are made available in many of the commencement speeches. They are
