InfoTech in a Global Economy
Information Technology courses entail the study of technology. It is an excellent choice
that would help a student advance their career and, in turn, acquire a top job at top companies
and organizations. Skills gained from studying the InfoTech course equips the learner to become
more competitive in the business sectors and become well-disciplined leaders in society. As an
Information Technology student, I believe I've got what it takes to venture into the world of
technology and share my gained skills and abilities with the community. However, according to
the World Bank perspective, only a third of the working population worldwide has the needed
skills and cognitive ability for their organizations. Since the community is still proliferating,
workers who have the required knowledge are needed to help support the changing global
economy (Upadhya et al., 2012).
Currently, I am working as a Software Developer at the Microsoft Company, where I
engage with company leaders, co-workers, and customers whose necessities need to be met,
including well-detailed reports and statistics analysis. In this organization, my task is to ensure
consumer desires, develop program arrangements with the potential clients, structure programs
for consumers' use, and ensure organizational benefit by maintaining a top and classical
performance as a worker (Mat et al., 2018).
As a worker, I have applied research skills more occasionally to do more innovations on
new programs to develop new and fantastic software plans for the company. These research
skills have enabled me to have ample time dealing with new customer requirements; in cases
where a particular customer needs specific and unique software to be developed by the company.
I use the research skills to analyze different projects on many platforms to develop one whole
program for my project (Mat et al., 2018).
Moreover, from my InfoTech studies, I have gained programming skills, and it has
equipped me with speed and critical thinking skills. These skills are needed to program software
without taking much time working on the same project instead of using that time to find more
innovations to benefit the company. Apart from the programming abilities, the course entails
theories that have helped me work through challenging software development tasks. At some
point, I go through published articles to confirm certain principles that give the step by step
instructions needed to undertake those tasks.
Besides, by studying the InfoTech course, I have the ability to manage emotional
feelings. During customer interactions, some customers may often disguise your work despite
how good it may look. They, at times, may use harsh descriptions on your project. Still, as a
professional developer who took a full course in information technology, I always calm down
and assume that everything is on track and keep on working, being determined, and improving
on the sectors that seem unwelcoming. Also, I have gained communications skills because,
during my work periods at the company, I can interact fluently with fellow employees, the
company directors, and the customers who need detailed information about our projects.
Therefore, I have the ability to spot the recommended word choices carefully for use in the
company and out of the organization (Upadhya et al., 2012).
In addition, learning InfoTech course equipped me with leadership skills, which has
helped me when giving instructions to my peers in the Software Development department in the
company. When a co-worker asks me to help with a given project, I have been able to give
detailed instructions without boring the individual. This has significantly changed my profession
as a software developer. The study of this course has also enabled me to help others in the
