Energy Skate Park
Part 1- Exploration and Play
Question 2
a. Explain how changing the Skater height affects the different values shown in the
bar graph.
The energy bars arrange the type and amount of energy produced or kept as the skater
moves up and down on the parabolic track. Also, as the mass increases, the speed of
the skater decreases, and vice versa.
b. Explain how changing the surface friction affects the values in the bar graph and
the overall motion of the skater over time.
The speed decreases as the friction increases until the skater stops completely.
However, reducing the scale to no friction makes the skater slow down or go without
stopping (Ghoderao & Bombay, 2018).

PHYSICS 130 3 Question 3 Prediction 1 2 Pie chart Simulation Explain differenc es There is no differenc e predicted accuratel y. KE=PE was predicted, therefore, it's way more potential than kinetic. PHYSICS 130 4 3 It was predicted rightly. 4 There is some potential energy even though it was not predicted. Question 4 Pretend that Josie can magically change the ball into different objects with different masses. Would this change the pie charts? If so, how? • • It mainly depends on the shape of the place object. The charts will be different because some objects can only hindrance the skater's movement and some of them might stop him completely. Question 5 Josie has a frien ...
