LEADERSHIP 2
Introduction
Servant leadership is a set practices and philosophy that helps people to create good
organization and play a significant impact in changing the world (Greenleaf, 2020). Being a
servant leader, a person must be a servant at first. The person must have the desire and ability to
serve the people and must embrace the concept of timeless. When a person decides to serve, the
aim is to bring change in the community and change people's lives (Greenleaf, 2020). For
example, Jesus Christ is a servant leader to Christians because, in Matthew 20:28, Jesus discloses
that the son of man was not sent to earth to be served by people but to offer services to the
people. The son of man should sacrifice his life for the betterment of the others
Similarities and differences between Greenleaf's servant leadership and the Bible passages
Greenleaf argues that for a person to be called a leader, they must be servants. The
willingness and ability of services to the people must be witnessed since leadership is a natural

must not be driven by any materialistic gain, but the desire is to put the people's will and needs
first. On the other hand, from a biblical perspective, God expects leaders to use the powers to
serve the book. For example, the book of exodus 18:21, which states, "But select capable men
from all the peoplemen who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gainand appoint
them as officials over thousands, hundreds, the fifties and tens." It shows that people to be
chosen as leaders must portray certain characteristics because they will be role models. That is
why church elders must show moral value in and out of the church.
Furthermore, Greenleaf's leadership is all about persuasion, conceptualizing, empathy,
growth of the people, foresight, and awareness. On the other hand, biblical leadership
