The Mission Hills case presents five significant issues: employee training and

tap the growing tourism market. Mission Hills faces a challenge of balancing between attracting
skilled employees and ensuring the company grows and continues to deliver a five-star service,
especially in its expansion efforts in the Hainan Golf Club.
Critical Analysis
Dr. Chu recognizes that Mission Hills would find it challenging to attract a skilled
workforce and retain them because many hotels and resorts compete for talented professionals.
Besides, there is a demographic change in which the current labor supply consists of mostly the
new Y-generation, which has been raised without much knowledge about responsibility. This
generation may be challenging to attract and hire, especially in the hospitality industry, with long
