1. Describe the ways in which Piaget's research applies to Jamie's development.
The research applies so well to Jamie's development because it states how each stage in
the development theory is essential in the child's growth. Jamie did not get to have close
interaction and learn several things with the mother's help while growing up (Sigelman &
Rider, 2014). That is why you notice she gets angry often when she does not answer
questions correctly in class, and in most cases, she struggles with anxiety and depression.
Lack of connection with the parent makes it difficult for the child to grow without having
such challenges. Therefore, parents must be present when their children grow and ensure
they feel loved and cared for.
2. Describe the ways in which Vygotsky's research applies to Jamie's development.
Vygotsky's research also applies to Jamie's development because it stresses social
interaction and how it is essential in a child's development. In Jamie's case, you notice
that she often retreats isolates herself when in social situations. This theory has an
approach which helps in sociocultural development. It also plays a significant role in
using language, which shapes a child's thoughts when growing up.
