DQ-1 According to the Bible and the Christian worldview, Jesus was fully God and fully human.
Interacting with the readings, especially Philippians 2:5-11 and Hebrews 1:1-3, explain why this
teaching of Jesus' full divinity and full humanity is important to Christianity.
As has been demonstrated over the past 3 weeks, God loves us so incredibly much. He created
the perfect world for us to live in knowing the fall was inevitable. After the fall occurred he once
again showed his love for us by becoming human to live amongst us as a servant to demonstrate
how to live a life amongst sinners and honor God with everything by doing rather than just
talking about it. His plan of redemption included providing once again, a way for us to obtain
eternal life and live in paradise with him once and for all, simply by accepting Jesus as lord and
savior and living according to his commands, honoring him with everything possible. The
teaching of Jesus’ full divinity and also full humanity is important to Christianity for the basis of
faith and hope of a better life than what this world has to offer. Jesus showed us how to love one
another and what a life devoted to God looks like.
DQ-2Read the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) and answer the following questions:
1. What do you believe is the main theme Jesus is communicating?
I believe Jesus is communicating the love God has for us. It illustrates the free will the
father provides to us to live anyway we choose. As the story progresses it illustrates how
putting other things before God don’t work out so well, in fact we can lose everything
this world has to offer and God’s love endures forever.
2. Explain the three principal characters. Which do you identify with the most, and why?
He three characters are the father, brother and the son. I would have to say I can identify
with all three but perhaps the youngest son more. I have live a life full of filthy sin, lost in
myself, when I had my eyes opened to the unacceptable life I was living. I truly shunned
my family and God, to do what I wanted to do. In the end, I was left but nothing except
the ability to drop to my knees and ask God to forgive me. I also had to ask forgiveness
from my family.
DQ-0 Please share your learning related insights and questions relevant to the material not
covered by the discussion threads in return for possible participation credit. I will also be
providing optional participation credit opportunities inside this area.
