QUALITY CONTROL 2
Quality Control
Quality control is a process used by companies and businesses to make sure that their
products and services meet quality requirements. The process can also be used to improve
quality control over time. Quality control is recognized under ISO 9000 whereby it's considered
to be an essential part of managing quality to meet requirements.
Benefits of Quality Control
There are a lot of benefits associated with using the process of quality control. One of the
benefits is that it ensures customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is a critical part of getting
high-profit margins as satisfied customers are more likely to purchase more products leading to
higher satisfaction levels. Secondly, it develops a quality consciousness in employees.
Employees are likely to maintain high quality when it’s gradually used in production. Thirdly, it
improves the production process. Through collection data, companies can find weaknesses in
their systems and improve them to improve their quality. Ultimately, all products are produced
uniformly meaning that they meet all requirements and prevent any setbacks such as recalls or
litigation.
Seven Quality Control Tools
1. Graph data is arranged to show quantity and quality which can then be used to make
judgments.
2. Check Sheet a check sheet is a form that’s prepared to collect and analyze data and can
be used for many purposes in production. Data is arranged by type.
3. Pareto Chart the Pareto chart is used to check for problems and defects on products
during the production process.
