Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are non-subsidiary, self-supporting
organizations that employs smaller given number of employees. This number is different among
countries and organizations. There are various types of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, for
example; Micro businesses that have one to nine employees, small businesses that have eleven to
fifty employees, Mid-sized enterprises that have approximately fifty to three hundred and fifty
employees, and finally Vast enterprises that have three hundred and more employees.
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises have been long identified as the foundation of
economic growth and development. The influence of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the
global economy plays a critical role in building societies free of poverty and crime. They play a
significant role in providing job opportunities for the different social classes of the community.
They also ensure that there is a flow of money across the entire organization (Boskov, 2016)
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises participate in the following part in the global
economy; they promote and invent job creation opportunities inclusive of every person, both
educated and non-educated in society. They also participate in the employment sector, along
with the input and output. According to research issued in 2015, approximately 600 million job
opportunities would be needed globally over the next 15 years. This would mean that the Small
and Medium-sized Enterprises create most white-collar jobs available in growing markets (Beck,
Demirguc-Kunt, & Levine, 2005).
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises have an exceptional ability to fuel economic
growth since they provide and create new job opportunities; thus, they push the tax base and
innovation rate globally (Harvie& Charoenrat, 2015). These enterprises also accelerate
competition between different organizations. This boils up the market sector as the struggle for
