1. How do you describe the importance of data analytics? Can we think of analytics
without data? Explain. Data is like the fuel of artificial intelligence, data analytics and
even technology. Without data, then technology is pretty much not useful. Every
technological device needs data for it to be able to perform its duties successfully and
serve its purpose as intended. Hence, we cannot think of analytics without data. Because,
data analytics is the process of analyzing data to find patterns in it and be able to make
informed decisions. In fact, the reason why analytics exist is because there is too much
data that can be handled manually. Additionally, machines are very effective and great
with handling data and finding patterns in it. In fact, the more the data a machine is fed
with, the higher the chances of the machine being effective. Data analytics is a very
important field as it allows for any person or even organization to gain value from all the
data that they possess. In addition, upon data analysis by various analytic tools, an
organization using data analytics is able to make intelligent business decisions based on
the information that is gained from the data. Hence, data analytics is very useful in any
organization to ensure organizations gain value from data and that it also leads to
effective decision making.
2. Considering the new and broad definition of business analytics, what are the main
inputs and outputs to the analytic continuum? The main inputs to the analytic
continuum is data. Data comes from different areas in a business or an organization. For
instance there is the social media which generates millions of terabytes of data on a daily
basis. This data is very useful to an organization to help them determine what their
customers or potential customers are saying about them and their services. Additionally,
