of its ability to understand business functions and rules effectively. This data collection method
provides first-hand information about daily operations and processes in a firm, which may help
implement required changes. When it comes to achieving the best result through this technique,
preparedness comes in handy. That is, interviewers have to have clear objectives and goals of the
interview. These would then help in formulating suitable questions for the interviews hence
coming up with useful data. Part of best practices during the preparation phase includes selecting
individuals to participate in the interview, setting the interview time and location, among others.
