The intelligence cycle is the process that develops raw information to intelligence. It
determines the daily activities of the intelligence community. The cycle starts with planning and
direction, which involves managing the mission. The second step is collecting, which deals with
gathering raw information used to make the intelligence. The cycle moves from the raw
information processing to a form that analysis can use. The analysis is the fourth step in the cycle
and deals with converting basic information into intelligence. Specialists use many resources to
give strategic intelligence to the people who make policies. The final step in the cycle is
dissemination, which deals with distributing the intelligence to the consumers (Lemieux, 2018).
The intelligence and policymakers distribute intelligence to the president and the national
security departments. The intelligence distributed plays a role in decision making. This step takes
