The book addresses some of the critical pandemics that have influenced the world in the
past. Some of the epidemics assessed by the author are Zika, Ebola, and the Middle East
Respiratory Syndrome. Crawford examines the spread of these diseases in various regions and
their adverse effects on the world in general, including their influence on the regional
economies. Pandemics have been happening to the world from the historical days although they
have not been effective as the COVID-19 pandemic that affected the whole world in the
beginning of 2020. The book bases its information on facts and assesses the effects of
