Decision:
Following the incident, Andrews should be discharged from Personally Yours, Inc. The
way he threatened the Branch Manager “Anthony Garrison,” poses a significant chance of
possible future violence. And the company should protect its employees from such possible
incidents. After discharge, Andrews might get more frustrated, so he should also be barred from
entering the company’s premises to avoid any violent incident.
Justifications:
Below are the justifications for my above decision.
1. Andrews past Behavior and Current Incident:
Neil Andrews, a hardworking employee of Personally Yours for about six years, but he
also has been a hot-head throughout his service for the company. There have been past incidents
of Andrew’s outbursts, which have earned him such reputation of being a hot-head. Andrews
being an experienced worker for the company should have learned to control his short temper
and should have restrained himself from such incidents.
The current incident also is a demonstration of his outburst, but this time he has
threatened the branch manager, Anthony Garrison, by coming too close to him and threatening
him about causing significant loss to the company’s office or premises. Such outrageous
behavior should never be acceptable, and Andrews should be discharged from the company.
