LABOR RELATIONS 2
Labor Relations
Union strategies, managerial strategies, and the external environment all have the power to
shape the way in which employees react to workplace injustices. If there is a strong union in place
the employees normally report any injustices to the union representative and then the union will
handle the problem. The employees are then advised by the union of the actions that they should
take. If the managerial team has good strategies in place, it will be easy to solve any of the
challenges that come up and there will be no absenteeism and the injustices will also not affect the
productivity of the company. Of importance is that any injustices are addressed with a matter of
urgency to ensure they do not get out of hand and cause irreversible damage. Unions and
management are key participants in the labor relations. The aim of the union is normally to secure
job security of the employees, workers protection and wage protection (Ewing and Hendy, 2017).
The management participate in labor relation because of their need to survive, to enhance
competitiveness and profitability. This helps the management to be able to make the best decisions
for organizations. They are able to make good decisions that has to do with wages, safety at work,
grievances and security among others. The management aims to keep the company running by
avoiding problems with the employees that can result to something such as strike. The management
also aims to maintain the competitiveness of the company. This is done by ensuring that all the
rights of employee are observed.
