ALCOHOL ABUSE 2
Introduction
Alcohol abuse is one of the leading social problems across the world. In the United States alone,
alcohol abuse is the second most common form of substance abuse. One of the most significant issues of
alcohol abuse is that it causes a lot of social problems. People who abuse alcohol are often found breaking
the laws of the land. In most instances, they are always arrested as they cause a lot of trouble in society.
Those who abuse alcohol at times get into unnecessary arguments that eventually result in fights.
In addition, there is a close relationship between alcohol abuse and domestic and gender-based
violence (Whitman et al., 2017). Due to the impact of alcohol abuse, many countries have placed
numerous restrictions on alcohol consumption by even limiting the age of people who are allowed to
consume alcohol. Many countries have capped the period at 18 years. The current research's primary aim
is to evaluate the impact of alcohol on individuals and their families and evaluate the available treatment
options for individuals who abuse alcohol.

alcohol have great difficulty walking; they often experience a decreased ability to control their

They cannot focus on one particular thing, and they keep jumping from one idea to another. There is no
consistency in their speech (Rehan et al., 2017). Furthermore, those who have abused alcohol often
engage in risky behaviors such as fighting and driving carelessly. Some of these behaviors can result in
severe consequences that can bring many regrets in their lives. They also develop problems in making
sound decisions as their memories are no longer stable. When the concentration is too high, it can lead to
