Social workers serve significant roles in society. Individuals are faced with day-to-day
hardships, for instance, the feeling of becoming neglected, mental health issues, domestic
violence child abuse among other concerns. Most importantly, children facing concerns like
child safety issues are at risk of becoming mentally disturbed, and even having an impaired
psychological development is not attended to (Al Odhayani, 2013). The role of a social
worker is therefore to aid the members of society cope up with the different kinds of
hardships they experience in life, and also help the sick find a proper environment to heal
(Barber et al., 2015). In this case study about working with difficult children and adolescents,
a social worker from Savannah Chatham County Division of Family and Children Services
was interviewed to find out more about the facility and tools they use to complete
assessments at the facility. Savannah Chatham County Division of Family and Children
Services is one of the local county social services departments tasked with handling family
support social services (the State of Georgia, 2021). Among the services offered at the facility
includes temporary assistance for those families that are needy, one that entails a cash
assistance program monthly for needy families with kids below the age of eighteen. This
paper discusses tools used at the facility in the gathering of information to work with clients.
It also provides ways the tools are deployed at the facility including ways they can be used
according to research as a way of potentially aiding in stabilizing the clients. Also, the paper
presents those whom the facility provides services and their ages including the presence of
any treatment team who is part of the assessment process and their contributions.

Over the phone call interview carried out to the social worker from Savannah
