Decision-making in an organization requires extensive research and evaluation of various
factors. In the corporate world, management and business analysts engage with professionals to
determine an organization's course. Decision-making tools can be helpful to promote the
reliability and dependability of the factors concerning business development. For instance,
decision matrix analysis is a tool depicted to influence change and making viable decisions in an
organization. The device utilizes a number of similar options that can be weighed against each
other to decide which option suits an organization.
Explanation of the process
In the case study provided, Euro Disneyland is an U.S-based organization that entered the
European market in the early 1980s. The company had a strategic plan of venturing into a
prospective successful business venture but faced various cultural challenges that hindered its
success. Using the weighted decision matrix, a variety of cultural challenges was identified from
the case scenario, which was then analyzed depending on their relevance to the company's
success in Europe. Each cultural challenge was evaluated against the variables that influenced
the cultural challenges to obtain a score. The score identified reflected the relevance of the
factors that affected the company's growth and success. Each score was multiplied by two, and
the elements with high numbers were deemed to be the best option for the company’s success.
Therefore, the focus was based on analyzing the cultural challenges and the variables influencing
the challenges to identify the possibilities that could have helped the company's growth.
