GLOBAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2
Global Leadership Development Plan
Introduction
Currently, multinational organizations are looking for professional and knowledgeable
executives in the global marketplace with unique competencies to succeed. Globally qualified
leaders play a crucial role in fostering international organizational competitiveness effectively.
Organizations can recognize and grow successful leaders through leadership skill-based
approaches. Successful global leadership relies on the global attitudes or cross-cultural skills of
the leaders to cope with globalized markets. Around a third of global leaders thrive because of
their awareness about the context, while two-thirds come from individual skills and
characteristics, irrespective of their organizational status, industrial standards, local management
practices or corporate culture. I would like to establish perception and relationship management
as a global leader whose success is the product of personal competences.
Perception Management
Non-judicial reasoning is an ability that relates to my tendency to not criticize other
people's unknown and new cultures, circumstances or actions. The idea of ethnocentrism is very
closely linked, which is the notion that my culture is greater than other cultures. I found that I
have a low degree of ethnocentrism that I want to alter. I want to enhance cosmopolitanism and
inquisitivity, which are seen as individual features that contribute to an increased understanding
of world markets. Cosmopolitanism is a natural personal aspiration, as per Bird and Mendenhall
(2016), to know about various cultures, countries, global affairs and events.
Inquisitivity is an intentional attempt to understand or understand circumstances or cultures that
have not been defined. As a global leader, I am highly inquisitive to receive information and data
from the global competition and to create a succinct picture of the relevant dynamic networks.
