INTRODUCTION
The Korean War summary
The Korean War (1950 1953) was a conflict between South Korea (the Republic of Korea and
North Korea (Democratic Republic of Korea). From this war, at least 2.5 million people died.
North Korea invaded South Korea as advised by the Soviet Union in 1950. The United States
and the United Nations were the principal members of the war where they joined South Korean
while the republic of China citizens joined North Korea. There were more than a million cases of
casualties from both sides. The fight ended in 1953 while Korea still divided into two fighting
states. The war did not have great attention like World War I hence was referred to as ‘The
Forgotten War’.
The Vietnam War summary
The Vietnam War (1964-1975) was a war between South Vietnam (the Capitalist) and North
Vietnam (the communist). This war was fought in the areas of Cambodia in Southern Vietnam.
The South Vietnam group was assisted in the war by South Korea, New Zealand, Austalia, and
the United States. On the other hand, North Vietnam was joined by the USSR to provide military
aid. The war reached its peak in 1969 where the South Vietnam government required additional
military aid to win the battle. In the end, negotiations to make peace were commenced in 1970
between both states to enhance peace and stability. In 1973, President Nixon ordered military
action suspension by the United States where other troops such as New Zealand and Australia
withdrew their military assistance. An agreement called the Paris peace treaty was signed the
same year. Unfortunately, peace didn’t last for long, North Vietnam attacked South Vietnam in
