4-36. If I were an employee at Petrie’s Electronics, I would want to work on this project. This
project will introduce the company to a system that will manage transactions electronically.
This will help attract more customers because they will benefit from the rewards. It can help
speed up sales and benefit the company.
4-37. Yes, I would approve the project outlined. Although, the project doesn’t include a
projected cost. The cost would be beneficial in finding how this system will affect and benefit
sales. Such as using a cost-benefit analysis and finding the break-even point. Also, the company
should try to implement a way for customers to see their rewards. Such as, an online website or
app that can help customers shop and use their points.
4-38. The preliminary tangible costs include employee training costs and the costs of hardware
and software. Intangible costs include customer satisfaction and morale of employees. The
intangible benefits could include an organized way of managing transactions for both the
customer and company. Also, increase of employee morale by happy customers. Information
would be more organized and timelier. It will also promote organizational learning and
understanding.
4-39. I would consider this a medium-risk project because the project is helping implement a
beneficence to both customers and the company. The system will allow time and training for
employees which might cause frustration to employees and customers in the beginning. But
once, the system is initiated it will help build sales. Also, the company will need to initiate
proper training to avoid failure to this project.
