Cloud computing is a form of hosting to accommodate websites for companies and
businesses. Since commercial sites encounter, a large amount of views and access to their
material more processing and computing power is required. Before cloud computing websites
hosted on a single computer and personal servers, however, when the popularity of a site reaches
a certain level, this method does not cut it anymore. Because of this problem many companies
purchase and rent new servers. The downside to these servers is that they are costly and take a lot
of time and work to install them. To add to the troubles as well the upkeep of purchased servers
is expensive whether or not the server is in use.
Using cloud computing provides many benefits. The cloud can give a high amount of
computing power in an instant. Also, the financial upkeep is not as costly as it is with servers.
The reason behind this is because the cloud charges only per usage. Therefore, the companies
save money since they are not being billed for idle service. The cloud can be accessed remotely
by a personal computer allowing to add and remove content when needed. With cloud
computing, the business can focus more on their website and operate their business rather than
worrying about their server. The problem is that there are security risks when placing
information online. Even though that is a risk, the positives still outweigh the negatives.
I don't work with a lot of companies. However,I have no doubts that most of them utilize
cloud computing. The reason I say that is because their content is so popular that it is required
for them to use the cloud. Since I am a gamer, I use Microsoft's Xbox services. When I had the
original Xbox all of my profile information and games was on a little hard drive that you plugged
