that keeping the prices affordable to low-tech customers would encourage loyal (R&D
Coalition., 2021). The product under consideration in the report was cake. The price for cake
produced by the Chester plant cost $32 in round 1, and $28.25 in round 4, demonstrating that the
low prices attracted low-tech buyers. The last simulation indicated that at the price of $28.25, all
Low-tech units produced of cake of 1152 were sold, and the plant utilization rate was at 200%.
The Materials used in rounds 1 and 2 varied, with round 1 having higher direct materials cost
$11.29 than round 2, $10.38. The plan was to find the best combination that ensures low cow
cost of production and make a profit is the cakes are sold to low-tech customers. Chester's
market share is 18.3% in the United States. Similarly, the actual units sold is 1203 compared to
1135 potential units sold in round 1. It is, therefore, clear the decision to adopt the broad cost
leader strategy helped to attain a considerable market share, achieve low production, achieve
affordable prices for the cakes, and attract more low-tech customers.
