The Tech Workforce
Human living standards have been improved not from being in the workplace for more
hours and not by having more employees, capital, or other resources in an organization. It has
come from improved productivity. The efficiency of production increases as companies employs
more tech workforce with modern technological skills (National Academy of Sciences, 2017).
Productivity improves when organizations tend to use new techniques and technologies of
production and distribution. Technology is driving organizations on the fourth industrial
revolution. Consequently, there is a need for employers to reinvent their business’s workforce.
This paper highlights the importance of joining the tech workforce and how it impacts the
community.
The world is still contending with socioeconomic issues, and one that hit the world
recently is the COVID-19 crisis. The shock has forced organizations to think about how to thrive
and survive in the new realities (KPMG, 2020). Companies have been forced to reimagine how
to maintain and measure productivity. Additionally, employers have been forced to reimagine
their model of delivery in remote environments. Further, this is still compounded by the
influence on the workforce which calls for more digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The rise of digital technology and artificial intelligence requires organizations to reinvent the
workforce. It requires changes on how and where work is done. A tech workforce is flexible, and
people can deliver or work everywhere without the need to travel long distances to their offices.
A radio presenter, for example, can air their programs in the comfort of their couch.
Further, the tech workforce can make critical choices like the future workplace they need
to create and at what rate they need to accelerate their productions if the need arises (Russell &
