Autonomous vehicle testing and validation is a major topic of concern in the modern vehicle
industry. Vehicles have been computerized and automated, requiring their validation tests to be
more comprehensive than before. The architecture and overall technical design of vehicles
demand careful checks by competitive mechanical engineers. These checks are to enhance road
safety in the USA and decline the claim of lives through road accidents. Test engineers face
some considerable problems and challenges while conducting their tests in the field.
Rapid innovation in the motor vehicle industry is a major nightmare that test engineers
are facing in their operations (Phillips, 2018). Most vehicles in the modern world are utilizing
rapidly evolved ideas and unknown architectures. The designs are rarely known to the test
engineers. With unknown technologies and architectures, test engineers are unable to establish
robust and comprehensive evaluation algorithms. The technologies need mechanical engineers to
undergo software engineering studies to understand various concepts of the vehicles. However,
most of the quality engineers are unwilling to take other learning programs.
Data collection from vehicle sensors and external sources in cars is tedious and
cumbersome to test engineers. These sources provide valuable feedback to the test officers
(Shrinivas, 2020). However, it is hard to establish physical feasibility by conducting long driving
tests to gather information. Shrinivas argue that the artificial intelligence model of conducting
tests is ideal. AI assessment has better scaling than the physical examination of vehicles. The
model, therefore, provides feasible data to the test engineers.
Legal frameworks influence autonomous vehicle testing and quality assurance through
the formulation of legislative regulations on road safety. In most instances, Congress tends to be
