Introduction
Ethical issues are challenges which many organizations face. Nowadays, even the
simplest thing can easily be turned into an ethical issue due to the different point of view that
individuals may have. These issues bring about a lot of controversies and may even end up in
lawsuits if not dealt with accordingly and appropriately (Boettcher et al., 2014). Most
companies have weak leaning ethical culture to deal with ethical issues. Moreover, these
companies are making very little progress to try and mitigate the wrongdoings that employees
may face at the workplace (Boettcher et al., 2014). For a company to be successful and
continue to be competitive in the market, it has to deal with any ethical issues that employees
may face while at the workplace. This will help in motivating them and thus increasing
productivity of the company because employees feel safe in this kind of working
environment (Boettcher et al., 2014). Thus, as an organization’s leader, it is important to deal
with an ethical issue professionally so that positive impacts can be reaped from it to propel
the organization in a positive direction.
Ethical Issue and How to Deal with It
My company was facing an ethical issue concerning harassment and discrimination. I
had to come up with a way that would help me deal with this issue professionally so that
every party feels satisfied at the end. As human being we come from diverse culture and
ethnicities. At time we may find it had to understand one another at the workplace thus this
may lead to discrimination and harassment of different genders. Such kind of ethical issue is
usually very costly to the organization when not dealt with appropriately because the issue is
very sensitive and needs a subtle approach. According to Yong (2019), for harassment and
discrimination to take place, three actors have to be in play. These actors are; the bully, the
