INTRODUCTION

In the beginning of this century we have seen some of the biggest downfalls involving the

companies like Enron, which was among the top 10 companies of the United States of America,

and HIH Insurance, one of the leading insurance company of the Australia.

The reasons behind the steep downfall of these companies are the Accounting Scandals, and

unethical fraudulent of the people who were associated with the company and in a way

representing them.

The failure of these companies and their association with the Accounting fraud has often been

the talking point among the scholars and experts who were arguing for the different Accounting

system, whereas the arguments were often based on anecdotes.

In this research we will try to find out the answer to the number of question like;

• What are the major reasons behind the collapse of these corporate Giants. Is this the

management’s failure or of the people associated with the organization.
