Case studies and analysis form a major part of a strategic management program. A case
study aims to give participants an understanding of the challenges of strategic management
facing specific organizations. A case analysis provides an overview of what occurred over many
years in an organization or business. It explains the occurrences that management has had to
contend with, such as adjustments in the competitive landscape, and discusses managers’
reactions, which typically include modifying the organizational or company plan (David &
David, 2014). The case analysis approach essentially involves an attentive evaluation of an
organization’s present circumstances (as represented by its external and internal situations to be
suggested in terms of the functional objective and policy task of the organization. Strategic steps
are taken to build and then employ an organization’s key expertise to select and execute various
tactics, like corporate, merger and transformation strategies, foreign and co-operative techniques.
Consequently, relevant marketing steps allow the organization to succeed when competitive
advantages are generated and used to generate strategic returns over the long term.
The following cases involve real enterprises. Problems and circumstances that
administrators and those who deal with them have to examine and overcome are described in the
instances. A strategic case may concentrate on a whole market, a particular entity, or a business
unit of a big, diversified corporation. The strategic case analysis should also analyze the strategic
strategy challenges faces non-profit organizations (David & David, 2014). It is imperative to
note that the strategic management case analysis follows a defined process and steps. The first
step is to analyze the company’s history. A convenient approach to examine how the approach
and function of an old business impact it today is to map out the critic that has taken place in its
