DEVELOPING A SYSTEM SELECTION PLAN

Developing a System Selection Plan
The facility does not have an existing voice recognition system. The functional
requirements and the request for proposal have been developed. The RFP is due back from
vendors in 1 week. The facility wants to make a decision about which system to choose within 3
months. The first thing to do is evaluate the systems. First, I would determine who needs the
program, how great the need is, and what can be done to best meet the need. An assessment can
help determine what audiences are not currently served by programs and provide insight into
what characteristics new programs should have to meet these audiences’ needs. By implementing
the program and determine whether the program is operating as planned. This can be done
continuously or as a one-time assessment. Results are used to improve the program. A process
evaluation may focus on the number and type of participants reached and will determine how
satisfied these individuals will be with the program. I would have to Investigate to what extent
the program is achieving its outcomes. These outcomes may be short-term and medium-term
changes with the programs participants that will result directly from the program. For example,
evaluations may examine improvements in the participants knowledge, skills, attitudes,
intentions, or behaviors. This will determine any broader, longer-term changes that have
occurred as a result of the program.
