The End of the Great White Male Summary

For Centuries the great white male had been the center stage for leadership in their

country; they forgot that other non-natives were working hard to take a leading position in the

biggest corporations and the government institutions. The great white male feels that they are

more advantageous than the other people within their country to the extent off relaxing

without understanding that the others are working hard to benefit themselves and outdo the

top officeholders. Examples are illustrated everywhere within the chapter. The author starts

by showing how the powerful white male was beaten from the year 1992 when an Indian

woman replaced the United Way Organization pioneer.

It is right for every white male to understand that the business hemisphere has

changed, and the fact that they believe they have the divine right to power was long gone, and

the reality is that every other person was equal to the task. The old boy network was long

gone, but the great white boy was still sandwiched between the old boy mentality and

inability to understand that things had changed, from how you treat your subordinates, how

business should be conducted, and women treatment at the workplace.

The great white male was forced to understand that change was imminent; the

network code was replaced by competence. The corporate leader’s dismissal during the Bush

elections devastation was a learning point for the great white male. They had to learn that

what you knew was more important than who you knew. This was an import time to learn

that the information age was taking over. The great white male, though they can not change

their mentality, must understand that the others such as Indians, Hispanics, and most

importantly, the women are taking over, and they will do nothing about it because they are

driven by education, energy, and drive to move ahead.
