Review of a Fast Food Meal
One of my favorite fast-food restaurants is Burger King that sells restaurants. In fact, we
always consider fast food that is unhealthy. The meal in Burger King I ate include hamburger, a
drink of coke and chips as well as salad without tuna that are considered as the standard type of
fast food. The hamburger includes beef, tomatoes, and cheese, and bread. But it seems that there
are lots of nutrients in fast food. In order to determine if the fast-food meal has nutrients or not, I
will use the website HappyForks.com to make the analysis of the nutrients in the food.
If I were in the restaurant of Burger King, I would order one serving of fried chips, one
serving of hamburger of whopper and one soda coke as well as one serve of salad without tuna
the total calories of 977 kcal, which is more than that of the normal calories for man needed.
Based on the suggestion of WHO (pp. 12), the amount of calories for man is usually 500 to 700
calories for dinner or lunch. But it is evident that the calories in the food surpass the requirement,
In this way, it indicates that if people take fast food often, they will have the danger of gaining
more weight and increase the risks for health. Based on the report, it shows that there is only 4.4
mg, which means that Vitamin C taking is rather low. In addition, the calculation of total
nutrients A is 968 IU. It is also no surprise to find that there is around 2153 mg of Sodium, Na
for the calculation of four foods. However, the intake of calcium is low with only 179 mg in the
fast-food meal. The other nutrient iron Fe is around 11.08 mg. It could be seen that the intake of
sodium is rather high in the meal while many nutrients have low intake.

In terms of other nutrients that the fast-food meal includes, it seems that lots of other
nutrients are under the requirement for the growth of bodies for males. There are around 96.89 g
Carbohydrates and 7.2 g of Fibre, which indicates that the Carbohydrate and starch are quite high.
The proteins for the food is satisfying with around 54.36 g. It indicates that the protein I required
has met the standard. In addition, the fast-food meal is high-fat meal, for it includes around 45.46
g of the total fat, which is considered to be rather high. The cholesterol is 141 mg and the total
saturated is 15.758 g, which means that they have surpassed the standards. Regarding other
important elements, the intake of zinc is also quite high in the fast-food meal while copper is also
high with 0.484 mg. There is 0.654 mg of Vitamin B-1, 0.859 mg of Vitamin B-2 (Riboflavin),
and 21.316 mg of Vitamin B-3 (Niacin) in the recipe. However, the intake of Manganese in the
food is 0.78 mg, which is considered to be rather low. But it is interesting to find that the intake
of Vitamin K is quite high with 75.1 µg, which indicates that the intake almost meets the
standard. Besides, the occupation of Vitamin D and E are quite low in the fast-food meal with
only the amount of 62 IU and 1.36 mg respectively. Last but not least, the intake of Potassium, K
is 923 mg, which is considered to be rather low.
In terms of RDA for each nutrient for my health, it is found that most of the nutrients
have a low amount, which indicates that fast food meals could not offer me the sufficient
nutrients necessary for me for the whole day. According to the research of the Pan American
Health Organization, the requirements for vitamin C for a male one day is 60 mg, but the fast-
food meal only occupies around 7% of the total Vitamin C, which means that the fast-food does
not include lots of nutrients. As we knew that Vitamin C is necessary and important for the
growth of bodies as well as the development of body tissues. If the intake of Vitamin C for
individuals is too low, it might influence various aspects, which suggests that I should not take
