Marisol Ramirez Touro University Worldwide Dr. Jacqueline Gilliard MBA 604, Management Across Cultures, Fall 1, 2019 Education and Training Proposal – Managing Across Cultures at Tim Hortons 2 Introduction The first time our family visited Tim Hortons, it was a shock, a culture shock in a good way. It was like arriving at paradise on earth. Many cultures working together as one, everybody trying to speak the same language, like language it was never a barrier to understand each other. Tim Hortons was first opened in 1964 and sold out in the year of 2014. New CEO arrived and with him, many issues came along. Tim Hortons is still, ‘’one of the world's ten leading regional brands, expanding beyond their borders and cultures’’ (Morelli, 2010); therefore, they need welcoming staffs to satisfy the demanding audience. The implementation of an education and training plan is mandatory to address challenges associated with managing across cultures in order to keep the success and expansion that this chain of restaurants have had and expect. ‘’Culturally diverse workers are one of the greatest assets your business can have.
