Topic Shakespeare survived quarantine with little help from his patrons” Ian wheeler
I've seen it said in the current era, as concerts are canceled, Film and television creation
gets delayed, and because of the Covid pandemic, artistic is pushed into self-isolation. Society
expects that artists will do great things as they are trapped at home. I understand trying to find a
bright spot in a devastating situation; is challenging to manage. Yet, it ignores how improperly
built our infrastructure is for supporting artists.
Ian Wheeler portrays the fact that artists lose too much during a pandemic, and if the
situation persists, they risk losing even more. If not all, some do not have health care coverage
that is reliable; they survive paycheck to paycheck. Most artists rely on concert managers, stage
crews, event coordinators, suppliers, and a dynamic live concert system. The closing down of
local record stores will lead to a negative impact. The reduced revenue from subscription and
merchandise profits will not even begin to compensate for digital downloading capacity growth.
Ian persuades his audience to look into the situation and see that an artist who needs to
compose a hit song to make an earning can not perform better under stress. Through the passage,
Ian explains how society puts a lot of pressure on imaginative people to make creations that
make people feel good and often forget that they can still struggle.
In a time of crisis, the author wants his audience to realize that the artist needs a lot of
support. He is against the view that it is so harmful that one synthesizes suffering into creativity
