The Burger Murder
An ethical dilemma is a moral challenge where an individual is obliged to choose two or
more suitable alternatives, but always the opposite, which are essential to different groups. Such
situations are also defined by experts as "right to right." Unfortunately, it could be better in your
personal life to practice this philosophy than in your business world. From my perspective, we do
not care about the money that we spend when we have a business problem, but more about the
good we are willing to do for the consumer, the workforce and for you, as human beings. As stated
by (Hartner, 2020), act is a unique means of expressing ethics. Therefore, I would aim for the
goodness of the majority in this situation.
Based on the Utilitarian principle, I will pull all the products worldwide. According to
(Zadroga, 2017), utilitarianism is an ideology that seeks to maximize as much benefit as possible
for the most populated. From the three scenarios, the strongest ethical decision which caters for
the majority of the population is withdrawing the product worldwide. While it is costly to pull out,
it offers the highest level of security for the consumer and brings more confidence for the brand.
Pulling and checking globally also yields the best and safest outcomes. I would prioritize the
customer’s health and aim to prevent maleficence to my customer. There is a payback when we
do good things for sure, better than what you sacrificed when you are an ethical guy. Pulling
worldwide also implies that you are less likely to get a copycat murderer. Where a safety deficiency
exists, worldwide pulling will remedy these defects, relying on product safety, not on the safety of
the absence of murderers. Pulling the product around the globe would also raise trust since it takes
more attention to the welfare of customers than to sales.
