NT-513 Gospel
1. Identify the key features of Jesus’ ministry which are agreed on by almost everyone.
One of the key features is the prophetic ministry of John the Baptist is the Baptism of
Jesus. In John's ministry, he preached about the final judgment of God and urged Christ
followers to be baptized and repent so that they could prepare for God's judgment. However,
many people agree on the prophetic ministry of John the Baptist because even Jesus Himself was
among the receiver of his rite of baptism (Strauss, 2011). People agree with this ministry because
they believed that John the Baptist told the truth, and this was clear since he kept his life at risk
for the sake of love. John played a significant role in preparing people for the first arrival of the
messiah. This was through his preaching about repentance and conversion, which is later echoed
in the bible.
The second feature is Jesus preaching about the kingdom of God and the healing
ministry. Everyone has a goal of seeking the kingdom of God. Therefore, through the Gospel or
the good news brought by Jesus, people can seek God's kingdom by practicing the teachings of
the Gospel. However, concerning the healing ministry of Jesus, he did refer to the sick and those
who were considered outcasts. People believe that Jesus can heal the heartbroken and bind up
their wounds.
The third feature articulated by john the Baptist is the Reports of Christ resurrection, this
is also articulated by His disciples. It happened when Jesus appeared to all His disciples on
mount Galilee. Here, he claimed authority over heaven and earth, which is fulfilled today. Jesus
had the power over heaven when he sat on God's right hand and had control over the earth
because he says that he is the way, the truth, and the life (Strauss, 2011). Therefore, human

beings will not go to God except through Him. Moreover, he ordered his disciples to continue
preaching the Gospel to reach everyone across the world.
2. Between what years was Jesus born? Who was reigning in Israel at the time?
Jesus Christ was born around 4 to 6 BC in Bethlehem. During the reign of King Herod,
the Great, who ordered the murder of all the infants in Bethlehem because he wanted to get rid of
baby Jesus (Strauss, 2011). His parents, Joseph and Mary, fled him to Egypt to avoid these
predicaments. After the death of King Herod, it is when Jesus's family returned to their Home in
Nazareth, where Jesus lived until he was thirty years. This time he was ready to start his ministry
teaching people about the good news and repentance for the forgiveness of sins as introduced by
John the Baptist.
3. About how old was Jesus when his public ministry began? How do we know this?
Jesus began his public ministry when he was 30 to 33 years. This occurred either from
AD 27 to 30 or AD 30 to 33. Before the age of 30, he was Perhaps studying the holy scriptures,
and he discussed them with his fellows (Strauss, 2011). Also, before age 30, he possibly taught
his fellow informally. At age30, he was baptized by John the Baptist in water and then the Holy
Spirit came upon him. His baptism meant that he was now ready to start his preaching
ministry and spread the word of God through repentance and forgiveness.
We know about how Jesus discussed the scripture and taught his fellow from the book of
Luke, which records that Jesus was involved in deep conversation with the spiritual teachers in
the temple of Jerusalem when he was twelve years young. We also know when Jesus' public
ministry began because it is written in Luke 3:23, he was about 30 years old when he began to
preach (Strauss, 2011). The other way that we know about when Jesus began his public ministry
