ASSESSING THE WORKFORCE 2
Assessing the Workforce
SWOT analysis, which stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats,
analyzes a company used to access its business and its employees to maximize the companys
outcome and productivity effectively. SWOT helps a company mitigate any chances of
failures by giving the company an elaborate understanding of its loopholes and how to
remedy them better to curb all uncertainties (Helms & Nixon, 2010). The analysis can also
help an employee know where they stand in the company and what they need to remedy to
become more productive and useful. Like any other place, a company has a diversity of
people, all bearing different skill sets from different walks of life and race. Not everyone
bears the same skills as the others; some require more training and supervision than other
employees.
A SWOT analysis of my competence in developing a workforce reveals some of my
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity, and Threats. Some of my strengths include; my
creativity, which can be very helpful in the formulation of new ideas to better improve the
brand of a company. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which has
enhanced my teamwork and connection with its management and potential clients.
Additionally, I am inquisitive, a skill that enables me to question and analyze different angles
to maximize the companys ideas better. I am also dedicated to the companys success, and I
can do what it takes to ensure that it succeeds. However, some of my weaknesses include my
need for perfection in my work, which makes me lose the luxury of time, and I end up
missing some deadlines because I am searching for perfect and clean work. Like many
employees, we all like impressing the Boss and for companies to mitigate this problem, they
can have activities to boost the morale of its employees to relax. Due to the need to have
perfection, I tend to fall under the bulk of work because I know I will have limited time to
accomplish the tasks, and I might potentially do a poor job due to the rush anticipated.
