Portfolio Milestone
The Myers-Brigs Personality Type Indicator used the assessment tool and the big five
theory developed by Robert McCrae and Paul Costa. The Myers-Brigs was conducted several
times, and every time the results were the same. The personality Type Indicator was designed to
identify my personality type, strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. The Myers-Brigs indicated
that I am an ISTJ (Introverted, Sensing, Thinking Judging) type of person; these personalities
helped identify my strengths, weaknesses, and preferences in my career and personal
development (Furnham, 2020). These results are in line with my perception regarding life and
choice. As an ISTJ, I tend to have more strengths than weaknesses, but the weaknesses need to
be optimized using the available strengths and preferences to suit my personal and career life.
Most psychological theorists refer to an ISTJ person as The Inspector. We like to gather
facts before we come to conclusions. We are reserved, quiet, and practical and enjoy order.
Using the Myers-Brigs Personality Type indicator, some of my strengths include being realistic,
observant, detail-oriented, orderly, organized, and logical. On the contrary, my weakness
included being judgemental, subjective, insensitive, and blaming others. Thus to understand my
influence of cognitive function, personal relationships, and career paths, we will use a few
theories such as Sigmund Freud's theory, Carl Jung's theory based on collective unconsciousness,
Hans Eysenck's theory, among other theories.
I will employ various theories and concepts, such as the learning theories, to improve my
skills and capitalize on my weakness. My attitude seems to be below average from my self-
reflection and self-evaluation process. Thus, I will improve my cognitive affective and
behavioral components of the attitudes to fit in teams. Being a team player seems to be the area
