Lying Interview
Introduction
People often engage in communications of various kinds and for various reasons. Most of
these communications are interpersonal. During these communications, people tend to find an
urge to lie for various reasons, such as avoiding punishment, winning the admiration of others,
and avoiding embarrassment. During the interview, I decoded some of the reasons people lie,
how they feel about lying and how their lies affect communication and interpersonal
relationships with the people they lied to. The study subjects were my sister, brother, mother, and
friend.
Findings
The study's results showed that fear was the main reason people lied. People often lie
because they fear the consequences of telling the truth, but the truth comes out eventually.
However, people feel guilty for telling the lies. In addition, the interview discovered that people

they were being lied to through nonverbal cues.

explaining themselves to others. The relationship between the one being lied to and the person
