Business management comprises of a variety of different topics and fields of
specializations. Specifically for this paper I shall be focusing on chapter 13 of our course which
is majorly dealing with employee motivation. For the purpose of improved productivity of the
employees and better quality output, the employees need some form of motivation to keep them
active all day long and even be willing to work for extra hours or on holidays and on weekends.
There are a variety of strategies that can be applied to motivate employees to raise their
productivity in an organization. For example, increasing their payments and providing incentives
for working for extra hours and on weekends and holidays. Also by rewarding most hardworking
employees will force most of the employees to to work towards attaining the reward.
The chapter also talks on the hierarchy of needs which is stated in Maslow’s psychology
theory of needs where he represented needs as a pyramid with the more basic needs at the bottom
and with the widest base. The chapter also concludes the chapter by emphasizing employee
motivation maintenance. It’s about motivating the employees and ensuring that the motivation
runs for a lifetime to ensure business continuity. This shall be reflected by job satisfaction of the
employees and they will be unwilling to change on their current forms of employment
(Marianne, 2011).
Nevertheless, there are some articles that talks about the same and include the following

This article tends to research on the impact of using threats and using incentives as
forms of motivating employees to work hard. He considers some scenarios where
