Persepolis is a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi with a strong plot and message. It is the author's

memoir about her experiences during Iran's Islamic Revolution. This is a descriptive book in

general. Furthermore, it gives a unique viewpoint on how women's and men's lives were influenced

before and during the revolution. We can remember and appreciate many sociological trends that

existed during those years, as well as how cultural challenges affected their culture, thanks to the

illustrations. There are a variety of panels in this graphic novel. One of the most important is the

one in which the protagonist smokes a cigarette. This particular moment has a strong impact due

to the moral conceptions and alterations that this community had in that time. This article would

This graphic novel is, without a doubt, a tale told by pictures rather than words. It includes

several illustrative insights and elements that aid the author in eliciting an emotional response from

her audience. The author explored several themes in the book. For instance, consider the fight for

individuality and religious injustice. This storytelling approach has a good impact since the author

gives the reader ample information to learn and draw their conclusions. The black and white

illustrations are plain, but they express essential points to remember.

It's worth remembering that the book's panels are set in a certain order. They all have a visual

image of the author's narrative. Some of them are examples of the inner struggles that the main

character faced as a teenager. In the depictions, she is seen wearing a mask to conform to the norms

that society has set for her. I assume the author's sobriety, as well as the two-color technique for

the drawings, allowed her to convey her emotions. Her drawings have a heavy influence on the

reader due to their lack of color.

In general, the public can interact with the story by looking at the drawings in this novel. By

including these types of graphic materials, I do not think the author trivializes the plot. That also

does not make it any less serious than other books. I believe that the tone was correct and according

to the author's goal. It is also simple to see and imagine how Satrapi's culture and group questioned

her on many occasions.

It is also worth noting that the text is well-supported by plain and straightforward illustrations.

One of the characteristics of this graphic novel is its simplicity, which enables the protagonist to
