Performance Culture
Case study
Performance appraisal is the review of employees' productivity in the organization and
their contribution towards its success. Through performance appraisal, the employees get
feedback about their performance hence identifying areas that limit their productivity and
areas where they are best at. The company manager will evaluate the criteria to assign future
tasks to specific employees based on the previous performance evaluation. Also, the company
may evaluate its employees' behavior towards the organization's activities, thus developing
strategies that will encourage positive attitudes of the company’s staff (Davis). Performance
appraisal helps an organization know where training is required among certain employees by
identifying the skill gaps in the level of its operations. Most of the time, how well one
addresses the skill gaps in the organization will help develop strategies in effectively
approaching the employees to boost their output and ensure complacent in their activities.
Therefore, an effective performance evaluation should advocate for better performance based
on the current evaluation that the company's management has adopted in measuring the
employees' productivity.

to alienation of employees, reducing the level of the organization's output. Therefore, every
organization must identify and adopt a set of values that will impact their performance. These

economic goals (Lencioni, 6).
These values give the company a sense of direction since it encompasses its founders'
needs in ensuring effective performance. Aspirational values involve the standards that an
organization needs to accomplish and may include developing new strategies for effective
performance. In the present time, a company may fail to secure these values; they can only
aspire to acquire them hence use them in the future. Accidental values occur spontaneously
through the changing needs in the business. At the same time, permission-to-play values
depict the minimum behavioral and social standards that the employees in an organization
need to maintain, thus serving as a basis of performance appraisal.
Recording
Performance culture involves the discipline that promotes decisiveness and standards
of excellence in the company’s operations. In measuring performance, the organization
establishes two-element including its goals that depict what it wants to accomplish and the
shared values that show the process of high-performance achievement. Therefore, employees
are evaluated based on the goals and shared values they hold in the organization, ensuring
that they meet the required expectations. A company may use a scale in conducting
performance evaluation, thus classifying all the employees according to their behavioral and
social standards to accomplish the organization's objectives. Employees ranked in the highest
scale, signifying better-shared values and efficient behavioral standards are therefore
