Question 1
Effective decision-making is critical in ensuring project success by attaining all
deliverables. The case study discusses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach to
decision-making. For decision-makers to realize appropriate results, some decision-making
techniques involving multi-criteria decisions like the AHP are essential. The method requires one
to comprehensively examine the problem, the purpose, and the need for a decision. Afterward,
the information is used to develop a criterion needed to evaluate the potential alternative step.
With AHP, it is possible to integrate decision-makers behavior with the decision model.
According to Dweiri and Al-Oqla (2006), the AHP techniques primarily focus on facilitating the
formulation of appropriate decisions, especially when multi-criteria decisions are involved in the
process. Therefore, AHP is the most frequently applied decision-making tool often used in
matters involving multi-criteria decisions.
The AHP techniques are highly flexible and assume systematic approaches, including
both tangible and intangible components. The AHP method's flexibility enables it to arrive at
well-structured final decisions needed to solve industries ' problems, nurturing optimal
performance quickly. The AHP techniques have significant uses in industries as it accepts both
qualitative and quantitative data (Vaidya & Kumar, 2006). Furthermore, AHP enables the
problem to be clustered hierarchically whereby the highest in the chain are given priority.
Notably, the interaction of factors in AHP and the impacts of the interaction on the whole system
is studied using a hierarchy. Implementing the AHP model is done in phases, including analyzing
priorities, judgment comparison, and problem structuring.
